  I would have given a half star if possible, unfortunately you have to choose 1 whole star. This is for any prospective landlords interested in signing with Mr. McKinniss and Allstate. DON'T DO IT. I signed with them to protect me against any tenant causing damage to my rental and was assured by Mr. McKinniss I would be covered if any damage was caused by a tenant. Guess what I have been told not only will they not pay my claim, they won't even send an adjuster to look at the damage. Said I was only covered for the dwelling, mind you I have a landlord policy. I pay around 25% more on a premium because it is a rental and now nor coverage. I was assured I would be by Mr. McKinniss he even switched me from a different company after 1 year and put me with Allstate stating it was a better policy and better premium. Oh I forgot to mention he had me dual coverage for 8 months as he did not cancel my old policy. Messed up my escrow at bank to the tune of $100.00 more on a mortgage for a year. Thanks. Mistakes happen, but when I filed a claim, found out he did not even underwrite the policy some Devon did, never spoke to Devon only Mr,. McKinniss. Well to make a long story short my tenants stole antique door knobs, in wall medicine cabinet, solid pine bi-fold door, storage shelving unit that was bead board from bath, busted a window in house and 1 in garage, missing all but 3 screens and frames, burnt the siding on my garage with a grill, holes in my walls, writing all over my walls and sanded all my kitchen cabinets to rounded edges to I suppose give them a distressed look. Guess what, nothing is covered or so Allstate says. All I can say is I am sure he is a nice man but I do not believe anything he or Allstate says. Promise you that you are covered to get a sale then if you have a claim they use word play and semantics to deny the claim. Told by some other agent, Eric that the dwelling is covered. Wow last I knew all these things are attached to the dwelling, part of the dwelling. Good lord I am covered for fire and melted siding would surely count as a fire, but no coverage now after raking me over the coals for years on a higher premium to protect my property from tenants who have destroyed and stolen from me. LANDLORD POLICY, What a joke. Allstate you should be ashamed of yourselves and Mr. McKinniss I really do not know how you look yourself in the mirror after blatantly lying to me. Be careful shaving as so you do not slip to slit your own throat. Things like this to your customers can kill a business. Sincerely, Risa L. Needles
